ERP Integration Engineer
About Us
At Tenkara, we're building an operating system for process manufacturers, starting with AI agents that run procurement, logistics, and demand planning.
American manufacturing has never had a greater opportunity to reclaim global competitiveness. But operations teams are underwater, drowning in manual coordination work. Suppliers managed over email. Freight tracked through calls. Compliance scattered across spreadsheets. Mid-market manufacturers can't scale operations without scaling headcount proportionally.
Tenkara deploys AI agents that execute these workflows autonomously, bringing cutting-edge AI into the economy's most critical sectors. Our agents enable businesses to make smarter decisions and faster transactions.
Culture
Build the absolute best product, bar nothing. Move fast and learn by shipping. Meritocracy where ideas win on merit. Extreme ownership. Steep trajectory for those who prove themselves. What we're building matters: helping American manufacturers compete globally.
We're backed by some of the very best supply chain and enterprise software investors. We're live with manufacturers processing real transactions right now. Founded by a serial entrepreneur who built and ran manufacturing plants from the ground up.
About the Role
Own how Tenkara connects to customer ERP systems. Our customers are manufacturers running SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, and everything in between. You'll build the integration layer that pulls their data into our platform and makes it usable: purchase orders, BOMs, inventory, supplier records, freight transactions. Every customer's environment is different - different ERP, different configuration, different data model. This is hands-on, customer-facing work where you'll dig into their systems, understand how they're set up, and build the pipelines that bring it all together.
We're looking for someone who has worked across multiple ERP platforms - not just one. The best candidate has seen enough systems to know what's universal and what's vendor-specific, and can build integration patterns that scale across all of them.
What You'll Take On
- -Build and maintain integrations between Tenkara's platform and customer ERP environments: SAP (S/4HANA, ECC, Business One), Oracle (Cloud ERP, JD Edwards, E-Business Suite), NetSuite, and others.
- -Design data extraction and transformation pipelines for ERP master data, transactional data, and supply chain objects (materials, vendors, purchase orders, BOMs, inventory).
- -Work directly with customer IT and operations teams during onboarding to understand their ERP configuration, custom fields, and data models.
- -Implement connectivity using each platform's native integration technologies: IDocs/BAPIs/RFCs for SAP, SuiteTalk/RESTlets for NetSuite, Oracle Integration Cloud/REST APIs for Oracle, EDI across all.
- -Build reusable integration patterns and abstractions that work across ERP vendors, reducing per-customer onboarding effort.
- -Own data quality and validation for ERP-sourced data, ensuring consistency regardless of which system it came from.
- -Partner with platform and product engineers to define how ERP data flows through the rest of the system.
- -Document integration patterns and create runbooks for common scenarios across each ERP platform.
- -Experience in one or more of the following is a plus: CIN7, Batch Master, and QT9.
What You Have
Experience:
- -5+ years working hands-on with ERP systems as a developer, integration consultant, or technical architect.
- -Deep integration experience with at least 2 of the following: SAP (S/4HANA, ECC, Business One), Oracle (Cloud ERP, JD Edwards, E-Business Suite), or NetSuite.
- -Strong knowledge of ERP interfacing technologies across platforms: IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, OData (SAP); SuiteTalk, SuiteScript, RESTlets (NetSuite); Oracle Integration Cloud, REST/SOAP APIs (Oracle).
- -Familiarity with core ERP modules relevant to manufacturing and supply chain: procurement, inventory, production planning, order management, financials.
- -Experience working with EDI standards and mapping across different ERP environments.
- -Experience with data extraction and middleware tools: SAP PI/PO or BTP, Oracle Integration Cloud, Celigo, Boomi, MuleSoft, or similar.
- -Proficiency in Python or SQL for data pipeline work outside native ERP tooling.
- -Understanding of data modeling and schema design for normalizing data across different ERP sources.
Strong Plus:
- -Experience at an ERP consulting firm or systems integrator (Deloitte, EY, Accenture, etc.) with exposure to multiple platforms.
- -ABAP knowledge for SAP environments.
- -Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and how ERPs connect to external services.
- -Supply chain or manufacturing domain knowledge.
- -Experience with ETL tools like Airflow, dbt, or Fivetran alongside native ERP tooling.
- -TypeScript experience.
- -Experience with additional ERP platforms: Epicor, Infor (SyteLine, CloudSuite Industrial), Microsoft Dynamics 365, Sage.
Mindset:
- -Comfortable working directly with customers - can navigate a conversation with both a plant manager and an ERP admin.
- -Resourceful and pragmatic - knows when to use native ERP tools vs. building custom extraction.
- -High agency - you figure things out without waiting to be told how.
- -Pattern thinker - you see what's common across systems and build for that, not just for the one customer in front of you.
- -Comfort operating in ambiguity - every customer's environment is configured differently, and you're energized by that, not frustrated.
What We Offer
- -$120,000 - $150,000 annually + meaningful equity (you would be one of the first 5 technical hires).
- -Health, dental, vision following probationary period. Unlimited PTO.
- -Hard, important problems. Foundational ownership. Direct collaboration with experienced, well-backed founders. Meaningful equity in a company with strong tailwinds.
